QMOTION INSTALLATION
If you are worried that installation could be a problem, don’t be! Most people are surprised how easy it is to install a QMotion camera over a pool table!
Here is the overview:
Mount camera . . .
Run camera wire to computer . . .
Turn on the computer . . .
Connect to house WiFi . . .
Adjust the camera . . .
Start playing pool!
MOUNTING THE CAMERA
When ordering QMotion, you are asked:
1) the type of light fixture that is over your table,
2) the height that the fixture is above the table and
3) the size of your table (7’, 8’ or 9’).
With this information, you are supplied the camera and camera mount you will need for your particular table set-up. In addition, the camera is customized with a pre-focused wide-angle lens with the proper field of view for your conditions.
In most cases, the camera can be mounted and positioned in just a few minutes time.
RUN CAMERA WIRE TO COMPUTER
You have up 25’ of camera wire to get from the camera to the computer’s position. Typically wire runs up the light fixture up to the ceiling and then over and down to your computer. While not normally difficult, it is probably more time-consuming than mounting the camera. Another option is to place the laptop or computer over the table, if the situation allows.
TURN ON THE COMPUTER AND CONNECT TO WiFi
Turn on the computer and connect to the house WiFi (WiFi or Ethernet required). Then reboot the computer. You will have a checklist for each particular step.
CAMERA ADJUSTMENT
When the computer starts up again, you are asked if you want to adjust the camera. You click on “Yes” and then go through a series of menus. These menus are for adjustment of camera rotation, cropping, keystone and color adjustments and for most people with computer experience, are pretty straightforward.
However, if you would happen to find this daunting, don’t worry! You can allow a support specialist to temporarily connect remotely to your QMotion computer and make all the adjustments for you.
